I bought the movie Shelter (as it never played anywhere around here). It is excellent. I wateched it a couple of nights ago and I was amazed at how well Zach played his part. I am not sure if it sis the acting or the Directing, but it was damned good.
What struck me most was how it mirrors real life. Zach was confident and sure of himself, until the kiss. Then you could see the insecurity and indecision. He was afraid of himself, his friends and family.
Reflecting back, I can see some of myself in those scenes. You know how we are attracted (for the most part) to people that are comfortable in their skin.

I've finally also seen this movie, after having read about it quite a bit. I also liked it, mainly because the acting is good and for a 'gay' movie, you're not bombarded with muscle boys. I found it a bit like 'beautiful thing', which is also great.
I'm not familiar with that one (SHELTER), but I have a huge collection of gay-related films. Many are available at Amazon.com. Also try Wolfe Video and TLA Releasing. This afternoon, I dropped by Blockbuster and bought 10 gay-related films on sale for $3.99.
Some films I recommend are (in no particular order) TRICK, LATTER DAYS (one of the $3.99 ones on sale), and BEAUTIFUL THING. On Friday, June 5th, IFC is showing a 2-hour program, The Story of Queer Cinema at 7 PM (EDT). IFC is the Independent Film Channel. If you miss it, I'm sure they'll repeat it during the month of June.
